Our Policy on GLP-1 and Weight-Loss Peptides
Last Updated: October 2026
In short
UKPeptideReviews does not list, rate, review or track semaglutide, tirzepatide, retatrutide, liraglutide or any other GLP-1 or weight-loss peptide. We do not accept referral commission on them from any supplier, and nothing on this site recommends a source for them. This page explains why, and sets out the licensed routes to treatment in the UK.
1. What these products are
Semaglutide (sold as Wegovy and Ozempic), tirzepatide (sold as Mounjaro) and liraglutide are prescription-only medicines in the UK. They are licensed for specific patients, prescribed after a clinical assessment, and dispensed by registered pharmacies.
Retatrutide is not a licensed medicine in the UK. Outside a clinical trial there is no lawful way to obtain it here.
Some research-peptide suppliers sell these compounds labelled "for research use only". The label does not change what the product is. When a prescription-only or unlicensed medicine is sold to members of the public for their own use, the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) treats it as unlawful supply, whatever the vial says. The MHRA looks at the substance and the context of the sale, not the wording on the label.
2. What we have seen
- In February 2026 the MHRA's Criminal Enforcement Unit seized retatrutide and tirzepatide during an operation in Lincolnshire.
- A product sold under an invented name whose certificate of analysis listed the molecular weight of retatrutide. Renaming a drug does not make it a different product.
- Certificates of analysis attributed to testing laboratories with no verifiable existence outside the supplier's own website.
- Research-grade vials that are not manufactured or tested as sterile injectables. A purity figure says nothing about sterility, endotoxins, or whether the contents match the label from one batch to the next.
None of this is unique to one supplier. It is the normal condition of an unregulated market for products that are, in law, medicines.
3. What this means on UKPeptideReviews
- No listings. We do not create product pages for GLP-1 or weight-loss peptides, and suppliers are not rated on them.
- No reviews. Reviews that discuss these products, or any human use of any peptide, are removed under our Content Policy.
- No commission. Where we have a referral arrangement with a supplier, these products are excluded from it by contract. We earn nothing if a referred customer buys them.
- No recommendations. Our guides and editorial content never suggest a source for these products, and we do not answer requests for one.
- Supplier conduct counts. Listings on this site concern documentation, delivery and customer service for research products. A supplier that markets prescription-only medicines to the public for weight loss may be removed from the directory.
4. If you are looking for weight-loss treatment
This site is not the place to find it, and we have no commercial relationship with any pharmacy or clinic. The licensed routes in the UK are:
- The NHS. Speak to your GP. Eligibility is limited and is being extended in stages. The NHS website explains the current position.
- A registered pharmacy or clinic. Private providers can prescribe after a clinical assessment, typically for a body mass index of 30 or more, or 27 or more with a weight-related condition. Before using any online pharmacy, check its registration on the General Pharmaceutical Council register at pharmacyregulation.org. A legitimate provider will ask about your health history and may decline to prescribe.
Warning signs of an unlawful seller, whatever the product is called:
- No consultation, no questions about your health, and no named prescriber.
- "Research use only" labelling on a product being discussed for weight loss.
- Payment by bank transfer or cryptocurrency only.
- No UK company name, registration number or physical address.
- Prices far below what registered pharmacies charge.
5. Reporting
If you see a listing, review or guide on this site that breaches this policy, email support@ukpeptidereviews.co.uk with a link to the page. We review reports within five business days.
Suspected fake or unlicensed medicines being sold in the UK can be reported to the MHRA through its Yellow Card scheme.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as regulation and enforcement develop. Material changes will be noted on this page.
